The holiday season always gives us an excuse to make a wishlist of wooly wear to add to our collection. This year we wanted to share a few of our favorite wool items to add to your list, too!

• We love our Stormy Kromer caps in any season. Made in Michigan and perfect for either hard work or play! The long-flap is a game changer, too (officially called the Midway Cap or the Rancher if you need more insulation)! But even if hats aren’t top-of-mind for the season, there are plenty of other beautiful wool options to consider from our Upper Peninsula friends.
• Another Michigan company we adore is Zeilinger Wool Co. in Frankenmuth. In our ever-growing toy collection, but something that will NOT be shuffled out of the rotation, is a wool-filled globe. We love that the squishiness of this learning ball makes it easy to toss into a to-go bag or explore the endless possibilities of play at home.
• If you appreciate making your own wool keepsakes, or if you are gifting to someone who has special crafting abilities, do not miss out on the North Bay Fiber “Heritage” yarn line. Certainly any of the yarns available from North Bay Fiber will delight you, but we are partial to the Heritage line because it all starts with our sheep at Great Lakes Lamb. The dedication behind this brand is top notch. We appreciate the partnership that has formed over the years between our farm and North Bay Fiber.
• Cover those toes with just the right stockings! A couple of our favorite wool socks include Darn Tough Vermont and Wigwam. Taking good care of your feet (like Lieutenant Dan taught us in Forrest Gump) is important, and wool is the best way to keep warm in the winter or cool in the summer!
• Our final splurge-worthy woolen wear is a Pendleton shirt. To be clear, they’re really, really great dress shirts…and naturally…inevitably…they turn into wonderful farmwear with grease stains and a rip or two. But they are sooo comfortable and the quality and longevity are excellent.

This is easily classified as our shortlist because we are wool lovers, and we certainly have more products that are easy go-to’s. Be sure to tell us what you’re loving on this list AND what we need to add to our wishlist for 2024!
